Alan was the youngest child of James Adair and Annie Dunham.
He was predeceased by all his brothers and sisters.
He grew up in the Maryfield and Fairlight area and took his schooling at Adair and Maryfield School.
He joined the army in 1941 and served overseas in Britain, North Africa and Italy. He was badly wounded while serving in the Tank Corps in Italy. He spent two years in the hospital.
While serving overseas he met his future bride Morag. They married in 1947 and together they raised three children on the farm—Peter, Eileen and Jim.
Alan farmed, drove a school bus, and worked for neighbors.
He and Morag had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They moved to Maryfield and enjoyed their years there. They took many trips with their nephew Arthur Tiffen and friends. Mum passed away in 2007 and dad moved to the Villa in later years.
He passed away on October 9, 2018.
We miss you dad.
