
John David Sippola was born in Wapella on June 11, 1936, the fourth child of August and Susanna Sippola. He passed away peacefully in the Southeast Integrated Care Centre (SEICC), Moosomin on the morning of November 9, 2018 at the age of 82 years.
John was baptized and confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church, New Finland and attended Convent Creek School.
As a young man, he enjoyed playing baseball and had a great love of animals with which he showed great patience. He was taught to work hard at a young age and enjoyed looking after the animals. He was a quiet, but a thinking man who loved farming with a passion.
John, who was blessed with strong faith, truly believed Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof;” He considered it a privilege to manage what God had placed in his hands, growing food for the hungry. He was extremely thankful for all God’s blessings and also the trials he had been through.
On June 18, 1988, he married Charlene (nee Fowler) and they lived on the home farm.
He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents and one step granddaughter
He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Charlene of Wapella, stepson Clint (Chrystal) of Leduc, Alta., stepdaughter Juanita (Bruce) of Whitewood, step grandson Harley of Whitewood. Three brothers Wesley (Wendy) of Whitewood, Roy of New Finland District, Alvin (Seija) of Calgary; Two sisters Aila of Esterhazy, Velma (Art) of Burrows; and also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
