It is with heavy hearts that the family of George Leslie Wilson Freeman announce his unexpected passing on April 30, 2020 at the age of 83.
On August 27, 1936, George Leslie Wilson Freeman was born to parents George and Georgina Freeman of Fleming, Sask. He was raised an only child on the family farm. Like all farm kids, he worked hard year round and enjoyed hockey throughout winter. Upon completing high school in Moosomin, Les decided to advance his educational career at the University of Saskatchewan where he obtained a Diploma in Agriculture.
On October 31, 1964 he married the love of his life, Betty Duck. Les had many interests in his life such as sports, community groups and the outdoors, but all were secondary to family. Les and Betty spent their years together farming and raising four children.
Les is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Elizabeth (Betty) Duck, children: Shannon Freeman (grandson Bryant), and Shelly (Mark) Sulymka (grandchildren Sydney, Jessie and Reid), Kim Andrew (Kim Marie) Freeman (grandsons Brandon, and Tyler), and Kyle Freeman (grandson Clark).
Due to current events, a memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made to the Fleming Community Organization.
