Francis Xavier "Frank" Mannle, of Moosomin, Beloved husband of Marian, passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre, Moosomin, on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the age of 85 years.
He was born on December 3, 1934 in Avonlea, Sask. and was the fourth child of eight. He completed his Grade 9 in Avonlea before moving with his family to Moosomin in 1951. Frank worked at the Pool elevator in Moosomin prior to farming with his father. He started dating Marian in 1954 and after a lengthy courtship was married on November 16, 1957. With his wife by his side, Frank operated a traditional family farm which included cattle, horses, chickens and also involved a mobile seed cleaning business. Together they raised their three children, Ken born in 1958, Carolyn in 1960, and Arlene in 1963. Frank worked hard and played harder! In 1979 his son joined the family farm, expanding it into a pedigreed seed operation.
Frank was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and was a Charter Member of the Father David Gillies Council #5858 of the Knights of Columbus. Frank always enjoyed northern fishing trips with his buddies, cabarets, dancing, camping with friends and family, playing cards, (preferably winning) gambling trips, as well as several far away vacations with friends. Since retiring and moving to town in 2004 he enjoyed his visits on coffee row, crop checking, reading, playing cards, but most importantly “Happy Hour.”
Frank was predeceased by his parents Anna and Francis Xavier Mannle Sr., brother Rudy, father and mother-in-law, Fred and Elsie Moran, brothers-in-law Gerald Moran, Keith Fisk, Neil MacKinnon, sisters-in-law Jean Mannle, Iris Fisk and Carol Mannle.
Frank will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Marian of 63 years and his children Ken (Jill), Carolyn (Norman) Lepage, and Arlene (Randy) Fyke. He will also be fondly remembered by his eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren: Christopher (Hayley), Jennifer, mother of Emily, Dylan and Finn; Scott (Maggie) Cassidy, Jackson, Owen and Frankie; Kayla (Mark) Shaw, Kellin, William, Grady; Graham (Catherine) and Logan; Lise Anne (Darryl) Connolly, Olivia and Isabelle; Aimee Lepage and Amelia; Arden Fyke and Shanae Fyke; his brothers Joe, Ed, Alfred (Gloria), sisters Victoria Mannle, Christina Rodger, Margaret (Vern) Novak, sisters-in-law Edna Fisk, Fay MacKinnon, brothers-in-law Garnet Fisk, Bob (Audrey) Moran, Roger (Albertine) Moran; his step grandchildren Cameron, Joey, and Allison Bowey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
