
The family of Ida Mary Ann Hustak is deeply saddened to announce the passing of their mother on March 18, 2022, in Regina, Saskatchewan, at the age of 90.
Ida was born to Alex and Mary Anne (Pinke) Shivak on February 27, 1932, on the family farm located one mile west of Stockholm, Saskatchewan. She was the sixth of seven children and was very close to her brothers and sisters. Ida attended the local Catholic school where she also made many lifelong friends.
On July 3, 1951, Ida married William Hustak at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church. The couple enjoyed farming in the Stockholm area for 43 years. In 1994, Ida and William decided to retire in Esterhazy and continued to enjoy the company of friends and relatives. William passed away in 1997, and eventually, Ida decided to move to Regina in 2012 to be closer to her children.
Mom and grandma will be dearly missed by her children: Mark (Merle), Myron (Liana), Lorne (Claudette), Tim, Charmaine and Kim; her grandchildren: Jonathan (Karen), Jared (Lola), Joel, Matthew, Erica (Andrew), and Nolan (Crystal): her great-grandchildren: Grayson, Jules, Rita, and Zebyn. Her legacy of warmth, kindness, and compassion will live on in those she loved so well.
Ida is survived by her brother, Donald (Marlene) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William; her parents, Alex and Mary Anne; her sisters, Irene, Kathleen, and Ethel; her brothers, Joe and Alex; and many sisters and brothers-in-law.
A private funeral service was held in Speers Funeral Chapel, Regina, on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 10:00 am.
