The Bergstresser family sadly announce the passing of their mother Alma who began her journey of life on the cold morning of March 1st, 1928, the eldest child of Adolf and Natalie Steinke.
Alma passed away peacefully surrounded by those she loved on Monday February 21st, 2022 in the Moosomin Integrated Long Term Care Centre.
Alma was one of the first babies to be baptized at the St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was also confirmed and married at the same church. With the funeral held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Feb 28th, 2022, Alma’s circle of life was completed.
On October 29th, 1948 Alma married Arthur Bergstresser and they began their marriage on a farm Northeast of Wapella. While there, they were blessed with eight children.
In the summer of 1964 the family moved to a farm at Kenaston. They farmed and raised the children there until Alma returned to Wapella in 1976. Due to failing health Alma became a resident at the long term care center on December 22nd, 2020 and was a resident till her passing.
Alma was predeceased by her husband Arthur on June 14th, 2010; Parents Adolf and Natalie Steinke; in-laws Otto and Amelia Bergstresser; Brother Otto Steinke; Brother Alfred (Jean) Steinke; Brother-in-law Bill Yuhas; Grandchildren Leanne Bergstresser and Trevor Bergstresser.
She will live on in the memory of her sister Ruth Yuhas; Sons Robert (Sharon), Gordon (Sheila), Eric (Debbie), Micheal (Kathy); daughters Edith (Andy) Grobins, Linda (Robert) Martin, Erna McCaw, Leiza (Robert) Clow.
