Holiday Smile Cookies on sale this week
Raising money for the Moosomin Visual Arts Centre

Holiday Smile Cookies are on sale this week, and all proceeds from Holiday Smile Cookie sales at the Moosomin Tim Hortons will go toward the Moosomin Visual Arts Centre this year.
Holiday Smile Cookie Week runs from Monday, November 17 to Sunday, November 23.
Last year Moosomin raised $11,443 in Holiday Smile Cookie sales, making the Moosomin location the second top-selling location in Saskatchewan. During past Smile Cookie campaigns, Moosomin has set the record as the top selling location in the province on a number of occasions.
“We definitely put Moosomin on the map for sure,” says Tim Hortons owner Greg Crisanti.
“We always like to switch up our organization every year and we see the benefit of having the Visual Arts Centre in our community,” says Crisanti.
“They’ve been doing some great things. They have a great volunteer base, the community is really behind it, so we couldn’t think of a better fit to put it all together.”
Smile Cookies sell for $2 a cookie and the arts centre is aiming to sell more than $10,000 worth of cookies this year.
The money from the cookie sales will go towards operating costs at the arts centre.
“Right now we are being sponsored by the town for three years, but we have to find a way to make some more money. Just the supplies, the different classes we provide, the rent. We are continuing to do lots of classes and lots of that is volunteer as well. We’d like to do more classes and have more exposure,” says Lynn Smart with the Moosomin Visual Arts Centre.
“We are a sports town. We are very lucky to be a sports town. But the visual arts is a good thing to be exposed to as well.”
