Fraud suspect arrested after 14 years

On April 18, 2021 Robert Charbonneau was arrested at the Montreal International Airport in relation to a Canada wide warrant originating in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan 14 years ago.
Charbonneau was charged in 2007 with Fraud over $5,000 (Section 380) Criminal Code. A complaint was received by Gravelbourg RCMP in 2005 in relation to alleged fraud in 2004 and 2005. Charbonneau is alleged to have defrauded College Matthieu of more then $100,000.
Charbonneau failed to appear in court to respond to the charge, which resulted in the Canada wide warrant for his arrest issued in 2007.
Charbonneau is currently in custody in Montreal, QC. He appeared in court on April 19, 2021 in Montreal and his next court appearance is April 24, 2021.
