Rocanville, Welwyn may be without power one more night

Attempts to re-energize line have been unsuccessful

SaskPower is trying to restore service to Rocanville and Welwyn areas tonight but warns that the attempts may not be successful and people in Rocanville may have to go one more night without power.

"We made attempts to energize there but they were not successful," Joel Cherry of SaskPower told the World-Spectator Sunday evening.

"The crew is troubleshooting and we are hopeful we can restore power to the community tonight, but there is a chance they may need to stay off one more night.

"Obviously we understand this is not ideal and we appreciate our customers’ patience as we work to get the power back on as soon as possible."

Power has been restored to most areas.

"I believe Rocanville and Welwyn are the only communities still off in your area," said Cherry. "There are a handful of individual customers still off here and there because of localized issues as well."
